Lightera Expands High-Density Fiber Cable Solutions for Hyperscale and Data Center Interconnection at DCW Frankfurt

Lightera Stand: M075
Lightera announced on March 16th at OFC 2026 an expanded portfolio of high-density fiber optic cables engineered for hyperscale data centers, AI infrastructure, and data center interconnection (DCI). The solutions enable higher fiber counts in smaller cable footprints, supporting faster deployment, greater scalability, and improved pathway efficiency across modern optical networks.

As AI clusters and high-performance compute fabrics drive sharp increases in east-west traffic, operators require denser optical connectivity between racks, rows, and buildings. High-density cable systems and connectivity are now a core enabler of scalable data center architecture.

“High-density optical cabling is becoming a core requirement in how hyperscale and AI data centers are designed, interconnected and expanded,” said Pascal Forcier, Senior Product Line Manager, Connectivity Infrastructure, Lightera. “Our latest high-density cable solutions are engineered to deliver maximum fiber capacity within constrained pathways while maintaining installation efficiency and long-term reliability. This supports faster infrastructure scaling and dependable deployment for next-generation optical interconnect networks.”

Built for AI and Hyperscale Network Scale-Out

Lightera high-density cable designs support:

  • Higher fiber counts in constrained pathways
  • Scalable inter-rack and data hall connectivity
  • 400G, 800G, and emerging terabit optical links
  • Fast installation and expansion cycles
  • Reduced footprint per deployed connection

Lightera High-Density Cable Advantages

Key features include:

  • Ultra-high fiber count for maximum pathway utilization
  • Optimized cable geometry for routing and bend performance
  • DCI-ready designs for campus and metro interconnects
  • Indoor/Outdoor UL rated to avoid transition splicing
  • Installation-focused engineering for fast pulls and simplified management
  • Compatibility with high-density connectivity platforms

These capabilities support both new hyperscale builds and retrofit expansions where space, speed, and scalability are critical.
