The Daikin Coolant Distribution Unit (CDU) is a compact yet powerful solution designed to support direct‑to‑chip liquid cooling in next‑generation data centers and AI factories. Engineered for flexibility, it integrates seamlessly into any layout—whether in‑row, end‑of‑aisle, or in a technical corridor—without compromising performance.
Delivering high thermal efficiency, the CDU operates with a very low approach temperature (ATD down to 2 K) and optimized pumping energy, driven by a high‑efficiency IE5 motor. This ensures reduced energy consumption while maintaining superior cooling performance.
Built for maximum uptime and continuous operation, the system features pump redundancy and hot‑swappable components, enabling maintenance without downtime. The CDU precisely controls the leaving temperature on the Technology Cooling System (TCS) loop, ensuring constant coolant flow and pressure to rapidly adapt to the highly variable thermal loads typical of AI and high‑density computing environments.
The Daikin CDU is highly customizable to meet diverse plant requirements, with options including fully stainless‑steel pumps, coolant filtration down to 25 µm, fully AISI 316 brazed plate heat exchangers (BPHE), integrated TDH < 5%, and an automatic transfer switch (ATS). Routine maintenance is simplified by front- and rear-only service access, reducing operational complexity.
It will be available in three sizes ranging from 400 kW to over 2.5 MW, the unit can scale up to 10+ MW of cooling capacity by grouping multiple CDUs on a customizable skid, making it a future‑ready solution for expanding facilities.
