What Should Tech Show Frankfurt Be Talking About in 2027?

What Should Tech Show Frankfurt Be Talking About in 2027?

We asked 166 technology professionals ahead of Tech Show Frankfurt 2027. Here’s what they told us.

Who We Surveyed

Respondents came from across the industry. Data centres, power, cooling, and digital infrastructure was the biggest group, just under 30%, with AI, data, and analytics close behind at around a quarter. Another 17% said several areas were equally relevant to their work. The rest was split between cybersecurity, cloud, digital transformation, and technology procurement. Worth keeping in mind for what’s coming next on AI.

Practical AI Has Wider Appeal

When we asked respondents to choose from a set of themes we have developed through desk research and industry interviews, Data & AI in Practice came out ahead of everything else, selected by 65% of respondents.

Here is what is interesting: Only around a quarter of respondents said AI, data and analytics was the area most relevant to their work. So, the people choosing Data & AI in Practice as a top priority for 2027 were not mostly AI specialists.

That said, not everyone answered both questions, so we are not claiming a direct cause and effect. But it is hard to read that gap as anything other than proof that practical data and AI have spread well beyond their traditional audience.

It does not stand alone either. AI Factory & Infrastructure Readiness was the second most selected theme, followed closely by Cyber Resilience & Human Risk and Sovereign AI & Secure Cloud.

Question: If Tech Show Frankfurt could only prioritise three of these themes, which should they be?

People Want to See How It Is Done

Case studies, hands-on demos, and technical deep dives topped the list of formats when we asked what would make the programme most useful, each picked by around half of respondents.

Keynotes and neutral panels sat near the bottom of the list, far below those top three. For 2027, that likely means more practitioners on stage, more projects, and more detail on how the work gets done.
