2025 Speakers

Dr. Dirk Mayer studied electrical engineering at the Ruhr University Bochum and received the doctoral degree from TU Darmstadt. Since joining Fraunhofer 2003, his main research area has been smart systems: the integration of digital technologies into industrial, automotive, or aerospace applications. Experiences from numerous collaborative projects with industry partners forms the basis for exploring new research fields from smart sensors over adaptive structures to integration of AI into industrial processes. Currently he is coordinating the research on digital transformation and AI at Fraunhofer IIS in Dresden.
