DE: Prof. Dr. Miriam Meckel ist Co-founder und CEO der ada Learning GmbH, eines Start-ups für Weiterbildung in Technologie- und Zukunftskompetenzen. Sie ist außerdem Professorin für Kommunikationsmanagement an der Universität St. Gallen in der Schweiz und Direktorin am dortigen Institut für Medien- und Kommunikationsmanagement. Miriam Meckel war von 2014 bis 2019 Chefredakteurin und Herausgeberin der WirtschaftsWoche, Deutschlands wichtigstem Wochenmagazin für Wirtschaft in Düsseldorf. Am Harvard Berkman Center for Internet & Society” war Miriam Meckel mehrere Jahre lang Faculty Associate, als Visiting Professor hatte sie zahlreiche Gastaufenthalte an der Fordham University, New York, an der Singapore Management University, dem Center for European Studies an der Harvard University, der Universität Wien und der Université de Neuchâtel. Zuvor war Meckel Staatssekretärin im Geschäftsbereich des Ministerpräsidenten des Landes Nordrhein-Westfalen, zunächst als Regierungssprecherin, dann als Staatssekretärin für Europa, Internationales und Medien. Sie erhielt unter anderem den Ernst-Schneider-Preis für Innovation in den Medien und den Cicero-Rednerpreis in der Kategorie Wissenschaft, veröffentlichte zahlreiche Bücher, wissenschaftliche Zeitschriftenbeiträge und journalistische Artikel. Ihr autobiografisches Buch „Brief an mein Leben“ inspirierte den 2016 erschienen, preisgekrönten, gleichnamigen Film. Von 2006 bis 2007 moderierte sie den Wirtschaftstalk “Miriam Meckel – Standpunkte” im deutschen Nachrichtensender n-tv. Als leidenschaftliche Befürworterin des internationalen und transatlantischen Austauschs war Meckel Teil des „European Asian Young Leaders Forum” der Herbert-Quandt-Stiftung und bekam das Eisenhower Fellowship der USA sowie das John F. Kennedy Memorial Fellowship am Center for European Studies der Harvard University zugesprochen. Sie studierte Publizistik- und Kommunikationswissenschaft, Sinologie, Politikwissenschaft und Jura an den Universitäten Münster und Taipei, Taiwan. Miriam Meckel was editor-in-chief and publisher of WirtschaftsWoche, Germany's most important weekly business magazine in Düsseldorf, from 2014 to 2019. At Harvard's Berkman Center for Internet & Society, Miriam Meckel was a Faculty Associate for several years, and as a Visiting Professor she has held numerous visiting positions at Fordham University, New York, Singapore Management University, the Center for European Studies at Harvard University, the University of Vienna and the Université de Neuchâtel. Previously, Meckel was State Secretary in the portfolio of the Minister President of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia, first as Government Spokesperson, then as State Secretary for Europe, International Affairs and Media. She received, among others, the Ernst Schneider Prize for Innovation in the Media and the Cicero Speaker's Prize in the category of Science, published numerous books, scientific journal articles and journalistic articles. Her autobiographical book "Letter to my Life" inspired the award-winning film of the same name released in 2016. From 2006 to 2007, she hosted the business talk show "Miriam Meckel - Standpunkte" on the German news channel n-tv. A passionate advocate of international and transatlantic exchange, Meckel was part of the Herbert Quandt Foundation's "European Asian Young Leaders Forum" and was awarded the Eisenhower Fellowship of the USA and the John F. Kennedy Memorial Fellowship at the Center for European Studies at Harvard University.
