In this talk, I address how Generative AI has exposed many organisations' readiness issues, which stem not from the technology itself but rather from long-standing structural and operational gaps. Fast-moving teams often bypass slow governance, resulting in fragmented shadow IT and inconsistent use of private AI accounts. At the same time, paper-based processes and under-supported teams struggle to integrate even basic AI workflows, leading to friction instead of value. These issues are not 'AI problems' per se, but organisational maturity problems. The session focuses on realigning AI strategy with business strategy, establishing KPIs for measurable ROI and building scalable, governed GenAI workflows. It emphasises the importance of clear goals, process readiness, effective change management and the necessary talent to enable sustainable AI operations across the enterprise.
