Becoming an “Agentic Company” doesn’t start with models – it starts with data, ownership and mindset. In this session, we share insights from a manufacturing client that set out to transform distributed ERP systems, machine sensor data and hybrid on-prem/cloud infrastructures into a unified Data & AI platform on Azure.
We discuss how production data, governance structures and platform architecture had to evolve together to enable AI agents for predictive maintenance, software engineering support and data-driven decision processes. The project shows that Agentic AI rarely fails because of technology. It fails when responsibilities are unclear, data lacks semantic consistency and organisations treat AI as a tool instead of a transformation.
