This session will focus on the critical role that reliable lithium-ion batteries (LIB) play in meeting the growing power demands of data centres and supporting the rapid evolution of Artificial Intelligence (AI). LIB batteries have emerged as the preferred choice for data centres due to their high energy density, efficiency, micro-cycling capability, scalability, superior life span, and low maintenance cost.
However, LIB safe operation is essential, especially for indoor critical infrastructure (such as data centres). This presentation will focus on the safety measures that ensure lithium-ion batteries perform optimally without risking thermal runway, overcharging, or other hazards that could compromise data centre infrastructure.
